garter ID please?

I am posting this for a friend in the UK. she rescued this poor baby from a pet store. they were trying to feed it crickets. now he is growing and getting some weight on him. the red is really starting to pop... but here is the thing. i cant figure out what kind of garter it is... i said id ask.was sold to her as a northern garter snake.. i thought valley garter? liz1.JPGliz2.JPG

Yes will do! At first they wouldn't sell it to her because it wasn't eating. Well she eventually took him home. She loves him. Shes got fantastic reptiles
