    Crushed Snake

(Please pardon any errors, I'm posting this in a hurry!)
My mom just found a wild garter snake that has been partially crushed by a vehicle and is still alive.
Apparently she has quite a long portion of intestines (and, what my mom described as, eggs?) protruding from her body. I haven't actually seen the snake yet, so I'm not certain how accurate my mom's description is.
I'm just wondering if there is any hope for this snake at all. I realize the best person to ask would be a vet, but a vet visit just isn't an option; the ones here don't do anything but dogs and cats.
I could try to get some pictures of the snake if that would be helpful?
If there is no way to help her, is there a way to humanly euthanize her besides a vet? I don't want her to suffer any more than she already has.

    Thank you!

complete destruction of the head is the most humane way to end it. If the innards are hanging out, it's about all you can do.

Agreed. She needs to be dispatched as soon as possible. It's the most difficult thing to do but the right thing for her. I've been in your shoes and don't envy the task at hand.
Thanks you for caring enough to want to help but there is only one way to help her now. Sorry.

Thank you both for your responses, I'm not sure how long she'd been on the road before my mom found her, but she passed away on her own just a little bit after I posted about her.
I'm sure I'll find myself in the same situation again at some point though, so I'm glad to have your advice for the future.

Thank you for caring. Too many people don't.

I had to do this today with a fresh road kill outside my study site. Incredibly sad; we'll be looking to put caution signs on this particular road and might also get some tunnels built.
