    If she retains shed in that area simply put her in a shed box for 30 minutes and shed that area manually.

    Shouldn't be much of a problem. Shedding should go fine, it just won't pull off neatly in one piece. You probably won't have to do anything but afterward check the area and make sure there's no small pieces still stuck. It might break off there in which case you might have to help her finish by peeling the tail. But stitches shouldn't really cause any major problems. Just make sure everything from that point to the tip of the tail comes off.

    Good news! Tiger got her stitches out today. No sign of infection and no obvious swelling or bowel obstructions, either. I'm hoping that her issues are resolved, but I'll keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't start straining again. She did retain shed but a shed-box did the trick just fine.

    I also got copies of her x-rays in case anyone's curious. There's a hazy white oval mass up from the vent a bit that's about 1cm long.
