    Sad news...

It is with a heavy heart that I tell you all that Possum, my snow radix with the neurological problems, passed suddenly last night. He suddenly became very ill and I have no idea what was going on. I noticed a few bumps a couple of weeks ago that I thought were scale rot and treated them, and he was fine just a couple of days ago. When I went to feed him last night, I found him limp and covered in huge blood colored lumps that went clear through...and his cloaca was infected. I tried to soak him but he passed. Possum was the sweetest, funniest little guy. He did everything upside down and loved to twist himself into knots. I will miss him terribly. Rest in Peace my love...

Sad new Marnie. The little guy was lucky to have had a caring home for the last couple of years.

Sorry to hear that Neurological problems can affect every aspect of an animal's health, sometimes very suddenly... I have a frog with neuro issues, so I know it can be frustrating dealing with an animal that can't manage normal functions sometimes. Kudos to you for giving him a good home.

His life may have been short, but he had quality in it being in your care.

    Re: Sad news...

Thanks so much everyone. I'm still so sad about his passing. I do not believe the neuro issues had anything to do with it. He functioned very well...he just did a lot of things upside down...lol. He just suddenly had some kind of tumors or obstructions all through his body. It was very odd because just two days before that, he looked fine except for a couple small spots that looked like scale rot...which I was treating. It is so sad because he was just the sweetest, funniest little guy. He used to love to play peek-a-boo with me...he would pop his head out of his hide and pop back in...sneak up to his log and hide and then pop his head up to look at me...I think Hermes misses him too. I tried to put Little Joe, my albino parietalis, in with Hermes...but they both seemed freaked out so I took Little Joe back out. I may try to put them together again though.
