    Housing different species together

Another post! So soon, I know.

So I am purchasing a cali red-sided, and also want to get an easterner (flames). Would these two be compatible in the same enclosure?
Are their tendencies (personalities) too different, comparatively?

I will have an extra cage to separate just incase.

    Thanks ahead of time!

I don't have any Easterns, but I have a tetrataenia in with a cuitzeoensis, and an infernalis with a radix. My group of three female infernalis are all in together on their own.
Mixing species shouldn't be any different in practical terms than cohabitating individuals of the same species. Good environmental conditions don't vary much, southern species do well at the same temps as northern species, in the wild they brumate longer and seek out ideal local conditions when they are active.

I can't see you having a problem, but if you do you have a fallback plan.

I have different snakes together. They are fine.

I keep lots of species together sometimes (same sex) and this has never led to problems.
