    Yes but it's still best to not let them ingest any substrate.
    One complaint I've heard from care fresh users is the snakes burrow in it and don't get seen much.

    Jade loves to do that already with the aspen just her last feeding was pretty difficult . Not because of lack of appetite just the aspen getting stuck on her food. I made sure none was digested though.

    I've never had a problem with it when I do feed inside the cage, but prefer to feed outside, just in case. And my three LOVE to burrow, but they never stay hidden underneath, they're to curious as to whats happening on the other side of the glass and they prefer their cork bark. One can NEVER have to much cork bark, and it's easy to clean with hot water and a soft tooth brush. Just make sure you know which tooth brush is designated for this purpose.
