This is probably a stupid question but do garters make little hissy noises when annoyed? If mine have done this before I seem to have forgotten.
My 2 year old male flame has been off food for a few weeks, seems healthy and actually did eat a couple of chopped up pinkies the last two days (because temps have been unseasonably warm) but he is making little hissy noises when I offered him food.
Could it be from annoyance or do I need to have him vet checked? He seems healthy otherwise.

I have heard a few 'hisses' every so often. Usually it's been females. Interestingly enough this happened relativelly frequently when offering rodents.
The most definite hissing I came across was by a gravid 'Florida blue' sirtalis a few years back. She was a real pussycat normally, but really didn't want any attention from half-way through the pregnancy that I lost her too.
Here's some footage -
Thanks for the replies. Since he has been off food I figured the hissing was just part of his "mood" but then of course I also worried maybe something else is going on.

its always good to be concerned!. means your a good parent haha
A couple of females will huff loudly, it's more of a heavy sigh than a hiss though. Definitely not as loud as Greg's Florida Blue, but I hear it when I'm close.
