    They're both the same species and subspecies so really not a hybrid. "florida blue" is a locality morph eastern garter. T. sirtalis sirtalis. Not to be confused with "florida blue stripe" or just "blue striped garter" which is T. sirtalis similis. In other words, your "florida blue" IS an eastern garter. It's just a florida locality eastern.
