    diurnal?

    When do your garters go to sleep at night? I worry do to my schedule that I won't be able to see mine awake.....I will be getting home at 7-9pm, leaving for work at 4am.

    Mine are up when ever I'm around. They hear me, they come out, no matter what time of day it is.

    They don't go by clocks on the wall. Turn on lights when you are home, turn them off when you are not.

    They will sleep when they are tired. Many times I'm thinking the worst, tear open the cage in a panic only to fine a sleeping snake. Then they give me the "why'd you wake me" look.

    perfect. as I've said, I'm anticipating a new reptile of some sort in the spring, but I keep coming back to these guys.....thanks everyone. no if I could just choose between a melanistic and a red-sided......I love their patterns and their eyes, but the naturally occurring all-black is so awesome
