    Re: Emily's Snake Thread

Today I had Tallie out and decided to let her and Proximus have a face to face supervised meeting. They have both been all alone for quite a while so I wanted to see how they would each react outside of the glass. This is what happened P5130546.jpg I just let them hang out for a few minutes while I watched them. So that leads me to my question: Can two males be housed in a 20 gallon(normal, not long) comfortably? Tallie and Proximus are female and male of two different species and can't live together, but I'm think it's time for a roommate for Proximus

I certainly don't see any reasons for not doing it considering the two species.

Here's some pictures of a little outside time with Tallie P6120009.jpg P6120012.jpg P6120014.jpg Also, in the last picture, does anybody see the whitish ring around her pupil? Is that ok? Shouldn't her eyes be completely red?

I don't know why it's even being questioned unless of course, they are 5 feet long.

    This is a 20 gallon.

    And this

They seem pretty comfortable to me.

As a general idea, the snake should not exceed the length plus the width. If you have another that size, add 1 square foot. Not sure how big your snakes are, or what you mean by "regular" 20 gallon because there are more than 2 different dimensions for a 20 gallon but I think it will work.

Doing a little comparison with Tallie today. The first pic is when I first got her, last October. The second is from a month or two ago. AA230018.jpg P3250010.jpg

October 23 is the day my little Tallie came home

I haven't been on in a while, so thought I'd give a little update.

Tallie is still doing very well, and being awesome I've recently switched her and Proximus' cages, so she is now in a 20 gal., and he in a 10 gal. Tallie uses every inch of her cage, and Proximus seems to prefer the smaller one. In the bigger one he would stay hidden all the time, but in this one he comes out and about a lot more often. I've gotten Proximus to start eating pretty well now, too. I've gotta put him in a dark separate container with a bowl of live guppies, and I can throw a pinkie in there very once in a while too. And Tallie continues to eat no problems what-so-ever, like always

1st and 2nd pic are Tallie recently, and the 3rd is her in my hair today

Woops, it would only let me post two of Proximus, so I was going to put all 3 down here, but...Well I'm sure every one sees them up there Here's the last one.
