It's amazing how flagyl increases the appetite of snakes!

Before she was given any food it was med. Time. She took another dose of flagyl
(metronidazole) and something new. She's been started on a weekly dose of baytril.
This was suggested by my friend steve schmidt and seconded by my vet. The baytril was introduced to address some of the nasties not addressed by the flagyl.
    Aeromonas hydrophilia being one.
Speckle once again is blood-free in her feces which is great but we must find out what is bleeding. I will not subject her to exploratory surgery. If my vet. acquires a long enough scope i will allow that. For now she is aggreesively feeding and gaining weight.

The group of baby T.radix (Plains Garter Snake) that were born 2 days ago have started eating. Cleaned the plate in a matter of minutes. They'll get a refill at lunch time.
    They were hungry little scrubs.

so I'm kind of wondering.... What I could use as a size comparison for Suzi... Just thinking now because you fed the lil ones twice today, but I'm not sure how old Suzi was when I got her I'm thinking she is maybe 8 months now, but sure she was close to a baby when I got her she was only a mere 6-7" long, and now with her having been here for 7 months I'm curious how big she should really be... (I stress myself out reading the forums sometimes lol)

I'm glad they all ate well though =D

Stop stressing. You have a beautiful, healthy snake. She seems content with captive life. She's eating like a champ and shedding well. Life is good.

Steve congrats on the new litter of radix. If you know the red male could be the father, but not sure, did you have how many other possible mates in with her? Can't wait for time to give us an answer.

She lived with a larger group before I moved her. I'm guessing there were 3 young males that could have bred with her.

It's a bright, sunny, warm day here at the Ranch. Out off the back deck I counted 6 male radixes catching some sun.
They seem to be waiting for someone

I just took this photo of Speckle. As you can see she's getting that full-figured girl look to her. It's nice to see the girth coming back.
My hopes are high that she will make a full recovery from her illness.
She is such a beautiful girl and as you can see eating very well.
