Jesse, your flame is 50% poss. het albino. He and Harley were from the same litter

I'm hoping to mate her with the albino male I got this summer eventually. He has some really nice reds and yellows on him, so I think I'll see some nice bright reds, even if Harley isn't het.

We won't be able to see the pictures on your hard drive. You need to either upload them (for example to Dropbox or any other online file share, and set the sharing permission to public) or you can attach to the post using the icon in the toolbar that looks like a tree in a picture frame.

    Re: Flame Gene

    Oooookidoki...

This year I've paired my flame males (one very red, one normal red) with

    A) melanistic female, not known to be from flame lines
    B) normal flame female, red belly, black top.
    C) pretty red flame, red belly, red showing at scale spread, red lateral.

A x pretty flame gave all VERY light babies. All very greenish and small amounts of red, or should I say orange... All are washed out and I'm VERY keen to see them develop.

B x pretty flame, big litter, a bunch of normal, a bunch of yellowish animals, orange animals and very very red ones. Cool stuff, although I did not expect the (pretty high) amount of normals from this pairing. I was thinking that red+red would give red to very red animals.
Its only an estimate, but I think ca. 25-35% is normal/yellow and in total, about 50-60% has LESS red then either parent!!!

C x pretty flame. Most anticipated. Same as above, but no yellow animals. Normals, orange and very very red! All in all, about 30% normal, 10% orange and the rest minimum as red as either parent or BETTER.

I'm keeping close track of these guys, as I'm certain things can be done with this.... I just need to figure out what!
