    Re: Emily's Snake Thread

Hi everybody Sorry haven't been on or updated for a while, but now I'm having a little issue with Porximus.

Ever since around winter time he hasn't been eating much, and now he hasn't eaten in close to a month. I feel like the problem might be that I didn't brumate him this winter and it threw him off. He is a WC snake, so I think when winter came around and the temperature didn't change it threw his schedule off and now it's killed his apetite. He hasn't been super active, and doesn't seem to have lost much weight if any, but I don't want to kill him just trying to take care of him. Right now I can only really think of two things to do: 1) Do a semi-brumation and just cool him off with no lights/heat, and see if he'll start eating after that(as I don't have a freezer warm enough to brumate him in) or 2) Let him back go near where I found him.

    Any suggestions/input/anything?

As for Tallie, she is still eating and growing like a weed She's becoming very bold. The other day I was feeding her by hand and she grabbed my finger and was trying to take it with her

Live prey can sometimes cause a good feeding response.
It it works quickly drop in some other food in the hopes it will get grabbed also.

Proximus gives this idea a thumbs up... Metaphorically speaking that is I got him seven feeder guppies yesterday. He ate three yesterday and he's eaten two more today. I'm waiting to see if he'll eat the others. I think I might put them in a smaller container for him.

Happy to hear Proximus is eating again. It's crazy when critters that eat their meals, and leave nice piles of poop make us happy.

There was a slight miscount. Somehow I missed a couple while counting(how can they hide in a circular water dish?!). He only ate the three from the first day. But I'll give it a couple of days and try again with a smaller bowl.
