It looks like his yellow stripe needs another coat of paint .I think gloss should do the trick

Cheers Steve. Does it have any advantages over normal aspen shavings? I would imagine the risk of ingestion is less?

Ps I love the curious look your getting in the corner of that photo

I think it does as it is in a ground up state and then formed into pellets. When they get wet they simply fall apart into saw dust like material.
With that being said I did lose a snake to this product. The snake swallowed a pellet made from what I think was a knot in the wood. It didn't fall apart like the other pellets and the snake died from the blockage.
From that tragedy I learned that the dark shinny pellets are the dangerous ones. I see very little of them in the product.

    Re: Great Balls of Fire

It's been 8 months since I updated this thread.
While in the snake room this morning I was blinded by an intense red light coming from one of the enclosures. I quickly grabbed a pair of sun glasses and looked in. There I saw this male just finishing a shed. I rushed him outside and grabbed a couple of shots.
I have to say that the is the most intense red I have ever seen on a radix.
    ♫This male is on fire♫
I think I will see if he's ready (no pun intended) to meet a couple red females.
    The canon capture true colors.

That is an awesome-looking snake. I didn't even know Garters came in colors like that.
