    Just my thoughts.
what Steve said, they usually have huge parasite loads because they eat almost solely frogs.

Also they shouldn't be kept with North American garters because they require higher humidity and are much more venomous

I know very little about them. Are they rear-fanged?

I don't know weather they use the same method of that garters use to deliver their venom or have specialized fangs...they definitely have venom and it's potent against amphibians.

I have had her for about a year and as far as I can tell she is parasite free. I got her at a reptile show and was told she was captive bred. I would not keep her with any others though she has her own tank and is a much more passive feeder than my others. I would like to keep some true garters in a group tank though.
And yes they are rear fanged and have a mild venom. I have not fed her any frogs though she gets mainly guppies and the occasional worm.

Considering the history these snakes have had in the States I would get a fecal float done just to have the piece of mind knowing it was really clear.
    Just my opinion.

Maybe some American members can tell you where to buy silversides? Theres no risk of parasites with those and the snakes seem to like them

Is it hard to get them onto silversides? None of mine will eat f/t pinkies except the ribbon occasionally when scented with guppies but they take live guppies and worms no issue. I started breeding my own guppies but if i can get them to take other stuff im sure the diversity would be good.

Do you have a photo of your Ribbon to post? Ribbons are awesome.
Here's a thread just for Ribbons.
