    Chris' "Infernal Three"

I've not posted anything about the trio of Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis that I got in September, I've not had a lot of time to sit down at my PC after our other new arrival in September and I knew what response I'd get if I posted anything without some photos.

Anyway, I picked up two female and one male from Sjoerd (Crazyreptiles) the long-term plan being to find another male and female from a different bloodline. for now, I've taken to calling them the "Infernal Three", we have some ideas for names but naming them has been a low priority.
    Anyway, here they are:

These guys settled really quickly and ate at the first offering a week after I got them home. They are ravenous eaters and will happily take smelt, trout/salmon fillet and pinky pieces. The only time they miss a feed is when they are in shed, and with three of them each shedding every 4-6 weeks I've often got one that misses a meal. I've had a couple of near-miss feeding incidents, they definitely aren't a group to leave alone until they've settled back down and dropped out of feeding frenzy - at least two of them would prefer to steal someone else's food than take a piece from the bowl under their nose. The largest of them has more than tripled in weight since September, the bigger two are around the same weight as my 2011 T. cyrtopsis cyrtopsis.

This evening this guy decided that the glass smelt of... smelt. The fool did this enough times for me to go and get the camera and take a couple of photos...

Temperament-wise, they're still a little nervous but will readily slither around my fingers if I hold my hand still in the viv. They take a bit of time to settle when I take them out, and are quick little buggers, I don't handle more than one at a time (with my bigger girls I'll often handle two at a time). They will settle more with time.

So, I'm really enjoying having these little scrubs around. Thanks to Sjoerd for breeding such a great little group. Here's a couple of other pics of them.

    Thanks Sjoerd.

When does the blue usually come in on your infernalis scrubs?

Beautiful wee snakes...and I agree as to the feeding responses! Mine were a nightmare to keep calm during dinner. Frenzy doesn't come close to describing the scene!
