Re: Lieutenant Dan (formally Dan the dark phase radix)

Here is an updated photo of Lt. Dan's vent/cloaca. I can't say that the vent problem is over and he's back to 100%.
A few days ago Lt. Dan spent a few hours in a shed box since he had some debris (probably fecal and urate material along with some substrate)
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this problem at a 3. In my opinion any problems in the cloaca area can turn bad very quickly due to all the fecal matter that passes over the injury or infection site.
I have been very impressed with Hibiclens ability to quickly clear up infection in the lip area so I decided to try it at the other end
I'm treating Lt. Dan twice a day this being day 3 and I must say it appears to be working well.
Lt. Dan has stopped fighting and musking me when I pick him up. Even during treatment he is calm.

Steve I know you thought maybe that this young man might do some work this spring with some ladies. Would this in any way have a negative effect on him being able to do that if that were the plan still? Hope with your help he can kick his issue.

Not sure what effect it will have on him.
I might just give him a year's rest

Lt. Dan shed without incident. His vent/cloaca is looking very good but not 100%. Not sure it will ever be perfect since there is some scar tissue.
He's eating very well and has stopped musking me when I pick him up.
