Slugs in cooling chamber, advice and thoughts welcomed

So I originally had a trio of Marcianus in a fridge for brumation where the temps were in the low 40's F which might be too low for southern species of garters, so I took them out of the fridge (they were in there for a full 7 days) and place them in a drafty room where the temps were in the high 60's F in hopes that this would cool them down for breeding. This past weekend I went into their enclosure to check on them and change their water bowl and I saw a few tiny slugs. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

*Btw they were all housed together while in the fridge and in the drafty room*

Shouldn't be drafty at all. Just cool. Don't know what to say about the slugs but they probably aren't hurting anything.

They probably were used to the temps then the slightly warmer temps encouraged a girl to pop out a few slugs. That's my guess.

Ummm.... what kind of slugs are we talking about? I thought you meant actual slugs! Like garden slugs.

I would try to keep the temps around 53-56 degrees for a southern species of Thamnophis. Once the temps get out of the 50's they might think it is out of brumation time.
