Re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

I've never had to desire to keep any kings or corns.

I've found myself wanting a hognose quite a few times though, I don't know why. There's a few other non-garters I'd like to keep, most of them tropical and arboreal, always liked those. It always comes down to me not wanting a said "non garter".

Was digging up some old media and found this clip I took when I visited Redspot (Jesse). Cribo or "chicken eater". He described them as "just like a garter snake, only bigger" A week later, 9 baby cribos hatch out in that snake room.

Central American relative of Indigo snake. They're just like indigos, just different color. And that one was the small one. He has one way bigger.

Drymachron are absolute stunning animals. I'd love to get some when I get my own place.

I found a video of this man shoveling chicken gizzards (what ever they are) in his indigo. I see what Richard means by them being like Steves radix

Tonight I changed Tank's water and noticed dead skin floating around immediately after the change. He's been on a growth spurt(nothing new) so I decided to rub his skin down to help remove the old skin. Not removing it causes him to scratch which splashes water out of his enclosure.
I worked for 30 minutes on the big boy and Tank never objected once. He actually seemed to enjoy the process. He had many opportunities to bite me or tell me he was finished but he never did. Brushing his head and cleaning around his mouth was met with no resistance. He is such an easy going turtle and such a pleasure to work with. Hands on with an 18 lb male snapping turtle is amazing. What makes it even better is I think he's fine with all this human contact which goes against every snapping turtle rule.

    This is one great turtle.
