Hey Marnie thank you for the concern, I'm alright. Members of my family work in NJ and they have been told not to come in for the remainder of the week because the businesses there have lost power and/or have been flooded, luckily they are still getting paid for those days. Halloween this year was a total bust because of hurricane Sandy, parties I had RSVP were canceled and from what my little cousins tell me not a lot of ppl were giving out candy.

Ack what a week, been kinda busy. Glad to hear that our east coast members have weathered the storm. My thoughts go out to that part of our country It looks like a lot of areas have sustained heavy damage.

Hope everyone had a good Halloween. My daughter and I painted pumpkins this year because we did not have time to carve. Guess what she decided to paint on her pumpkin of all things? T. s. concinnus. She loves our little Oregon snakes I will post a photo once I get it uploaded.

Already pulling our hair out as far as homebuying goes, lol. We made a backup offer on the house we wanted (it already had a contract in place), gave the sellers 7 days to reply, never herd back from them & thought it was a dead deal. Day 8, which happened to be Halloween, they counter offered and gave us 24 hours to reply Our wonderful realator met us at 7 o'clock at night, Haloween, to sign the papers. However, we found a different house today and decided to go all in... it has no other offers on it and it is just fantastic.... better than our "dream home" that we put the back-up offer on. Fingers crossed & double crossed that our offer will be accepted... this could be the one

Also, Z's school dose a read-a-thon fundraiser every year. The theme is BEAR- "Be Excited About Reading". The kids keep track of the minutes they read over 15 days, and they get put into BEAR groups based on how many minutes they read: Teddy, Panda, Black Bear, Polar and the highest group is Grizzly..... Zoe read 3,153 minutes over 15 days!!! She was one of the few students that made it to the Grizz group, she was the top reader in 2nd grade, and she was the second highest reader in the entire school!!! She has a great love for books... she is reading at about a 5th grade level. I am so proud of my little Z, and so glad she enjoys reading so much


Here she is giving a high five to the BEAR, and also the total minutes the whole school read! They raised over $16,000
