If we don't study the past and try to understand what happened, we risk repeating the same mistakes again. You don't have to agree with actions to understand them.
There are people in the world who are not mentally ill, but who actions are assumed by others to be the result of mental illness because they are so far outside societal norms - these people aren't ill, they know what they are doing, they just don't believe it's wrong. There are many sociopaths out there, most of them don't find themselves in a position where they can inflict themselves on a global scale. It's disturbing that there seems to be a generation who don't really know who Hitler was and why he is worth studying.

Yep...I agree. And I was just about to say...sociopath...but you nailed it, Chris. A sociopath can understand the difference between right and wrong as we see it...he or she just doesn't care or doesn't agree with our view of things, or like Chris said, they don't have the morality to determine that something is wrong. Sociopaths don't have a conscience...they have no sense of remorse. Where as someone who is mentally ill...well, psychotic that is, wouldn't understand that what he/she is doing is wrong...he/she also wouldn't be able to plan an execute something like Hitler did.

I talked to the doctor. Now they are thinking that my son has something bacterial going on in his stomach. They are putting him on antibiotics. If he doesn't respond to them...they will have to do bacterial studies. I mentioned the snakes and salmonella...although my son does not handle the snakes, and I am very careful to sanitize any area where I have been working with the snakes. But the doctor said he will consider that when doing bacterial studies...just in case.

Ugh...my son is so sick. Now it has moved into his lungs and he woke up this morning and couldn't breathe. He has a history of respiratory problems...he had to be rushed to the ER so many times when he was a baby and a toddler, because he couldn't breathe. They did surgery when he was three and he has been much better...but if he gets a cold or respiratory infection, he has to do nebulizer treatments. I have class in a few hours and I can't miss it. I'm going to have to call the doctor and have my mother take him...I hate this. If the doc can't see him, I guess I'll have to take him to the hospital and miss class again...my teacher, CC (lol) is pretty cool, I think she will understand...hopefully.

Who watches T.V. anyway? There's only a few shows I care enough to watch and those are watched online. (netflix, Hulu, NBC, etc.) Not nearly as many ads and shows get queued up if I miss them. Plus you can pause, rewind, resume, etc. without the need for a DVR. Heck, even when I do watch in on the main TV, I stream it from the web rather than watching live TV.

Blame it on the fiasco that happened some years back with the writers strike. Things are just now starting to improve.

I just put the few programs that don't make me want to punch a hole in the wall on record and watch them when I've got free lessons It frees up a lot of time in the evening for important things like video games and homework
