    Spica's first shed. Almost.

Spica is starting to shed. =) First one I've seen! YAY! She JUST started and has the old skin hanging off her chin like a beard.

How long does the shedding process take once they are started? In other words, when do I have a nice shiny snake again? She has the pretty blue shine to her head again, the rest of her body is still dull.

Do scrubs's eyes go blue? I didn't see her eyes look anything close to milky or blue the past few days.

Once the skin starts to peel off, it can be minutes to a few hours. It's usually done pretty quickly. Check the shed skin once she's done to see if both eye caps and the tip of the tail came off.

Scrubs go through the process so quickly that most of the time I never notice until a skin turns up. I don't think I've ever seen them "in blue" but my radix do become pale a day or two before they shed.

Thanks Steveo! Three hours later she shed everything except the top of her head. So I rubbed it with a wet towel, and it came off pretty easily. Tail was fine, except for the excessive musking while I was cleaning her head. Phew that little one can put up a stink!

    Found her skin...

Did both eye caps come off. The reason I ask is because in a couple photos I see a retained right eye cap.

Both my babies eye's go blue for about 2 days, then back to normal. Then I put them in a warm shed box for 30 min and usually within 1 day they have a nice one piece clean shed.

I think she is admiring herself in the glass.

Yep, they eventually came off. I actually gave her a half hour to work it off herself, but she didn't so I helped. The right eye cap was actually just stuck at the nose and was easy to wipe off. The left needed a bit of water to come off. All bits of skin accounted for down to the tail. I'm saving her skin, just like I saved my son's first shoes. I'm hoping her next shed goes a lot easier and she sheds a full skin.
