I'm no expert but I'm going with Richard on this one, I say it's a rodent.
Well, with the new pics it's definitely not a vole. I think Stefan's original answer is correct. Apodemus flavicollis. And yes, snake man, that's a mouse.

    Re: The Nature Photography Thread

I attempted to go "field herping" today. I put quotes around it because the only places I know of around here are public parks....Therefore they're aren't the best places but it's all I know!(Poor little city girl) Anyways it was my day off, and I figured I'd get up early and try and check out the main snake area I know of, but of course theres no sun and it's been sprinkling on and off and it's pretty cool out there....Saw one snake but by the time I tried to get his picture it went under water. But here what I did see:

Sleeping Nutria. I accidently scared him. I swear I thought he saw me, but apperantly not, because after the picture he jumped up and swam off. Sorry Nutria

On the right side in the grass, there are some little green Parrot type of birds. They aren't native here, they just popped up a few years ago. I usually hear them more often than I see them. I was glad to get this pic of some.

Here is a turtle I saw eating a dead fish. Sorry, it's not a great video...

Quaker parrot. Also known as Monk Parakeet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They've been in SW WA for a few decades. They cause problems for the power company since they like to nest on tranformers for winter warmth.
