Working on a website.... Advice would be greatly appreciated

I am in the process of developing a website primarily to showcase my snakes but also to post some up for sale when breeding season comes along. I have been in the process of working on it but before I pay to have the domain I want to make sure that I have some of the small tweaks worked out. Any advice on what you guys think would be a good idea to add would be great.

Thanks and have a great day

Important on such a site is: good visibility (no green letters on a red background etc), the info has to be right, the pics have to be of some quality and do not copy texts from other sites. Write down YOUR experiences.

    tylergrosmick.wix.com/checkeredgarter

I will be hosting it as checkeredgarter.com once I get all the minor issues worked out.

Looking good so far! Hope you can add more to it. I would recommend that you add a caresheet or husbandry page.

    Personally not fond of wix.

Free hosts bombard visitors with ads.

Buy an inexpensive godaddy account, and learn HTML, write your own pages, or "borrow" from templates.

If you google search "free web site templates" there are several great places to get started.

It took a lot of time, but my savannah monitor site is all hand coded.

    good luck.

    OK, fair enough.

I attempted to modify a web site for a friend on ssnakess, he uses wix, I could not do anything for him because wix forces you to use their editor.

However, the wix editor is easy to use, so for a newbie, it would be great, then as your web design skills improve, you can always move to godaddy later.

Please excuse me.. once you do learn how to write html and css, these ready made editors lose all appeal.

Agreed, but I am full time engineering student and while I could learn html readily I just don't have the time now. I spent about an hour on the site. In the long run I will put a good amount of time but I want to make sure the site is going to have traffic before I put too much effort in if you know what I mean. I got about 20 breeders/babies coming in Thursday so I will have plenty to add lol.
