Well sadly the second little FTT scrub died this morning

I feel like all I do is post bad news.

Hopefully that will be all of the losses. I was gunning for an Oceans 11 theme, but with the regurgitated little one plus the two FTT victims, we're down to 10.

Of course, that's 10 beautiful little ones that I am very happy and privileged to have so that's the way I'm looking at it. They are all very active this morning.

Little offender is still EXTREMELY jumpy when touched. He'll be getting the opportunity to eat later today and my plan is to keep him in solitary until his behavior returns to normal (and the general group consensus is that it should be ok).

I think it is a good sign that the little offender is so jumpy. Sorry to hear about the others.

Marnie: Yep. I immediately held him upside down and started massaging the victim from the furthest end towards Little Offender's head... it only tool 3-5 minutes... once the regurgitation started it was out in about 10 seconds... dead of course. It worked far better than I imagined it would.

Are those wandering Garters (T.e.vagrans)? I am looking to breed mine next spring and am interested in knowing a bit more. Did Little Offender just up and attack the other snake or was it a food fight that went too far during communal feeding? I know to watch wandering garters during communal feedings but would like to know if my concern should spread out in general housing as well. I would also like to know if that issue extends much outside the wandering garter subspecies.
