Marwolaeth: you could always meet me and have a go at herping in the New Forrest? I haven't tried yet so I'm not sure if much would be found but it is home to every species of snake in the UK that I'm aware of. Of course you wouldn't be able to do so much as blow a raspberry at a smooth snake without someone slapping you but it could be good for grass snakes

I've met Chantel in person and talked to Steve, Joe, and Donna on the phone.

Maybe there is a good place to find garters somewhere on the route between Moses Lake and Seattle... I'd love to bring home a regional garter snake.

That would be awesome if we had like a Thamnophis.com get together thing! I know that would be really hard, and as Wayne said, I guess something similar has been tried and it didn't work out....Hmm...

I've met a couple of UK members and I think there's a fair few heading to Donny in a couple of weeks. It's got to be easier for us than our American friends based on the distances.
