Nice happy looking snake.

Snakes continuously grow throughout their lives, but as adults their growing drastically slows down. You posted in another thread that Proximus is 21 inches, that seems to be around the average size for adult ribbons. I don't think he will get much longer and don't be surprised if he only sheds every 2-3 months.

I just hoped he would get a little bit bigger. He's not even 2 feet! I still love him even if he is a teeny boy

I love the first pic, like he's wearing an old elizabethan type collar.

He did it! He did it! He finally shed again

I got him out this morning, to see what he was doing and found him like this:

So I got that pic, and put him back up. Looked over about 20-30 minutes later and he was done!

Now he's huuungry, so he's going to eat today, and I'm going to try and give him a night crawler. He hasn't had any night crawlers yet, but I think today is a good day to try it Going to give it with some fish, worked with no problem with the pinkies.

Well, I tried another nightcrawler today. I rubbed some silversides allll over it, and offered it from my hand. Nothing still I even tried putting him in a seperate container with the fish and worm piled together, not in any water, and he wouldn't take it. Didn't even eat any fish. I think I'll try one more time after a little while, and if not I'm giving the worms to my friend who has a beardie.

HA-HA! Success! I tricked that little brat I've tried a nightcrawler another time since that last post, to no avail. Decided today to try one more time. This time I cut it up into fifths(Which wasn't very fun, I felt pretty bad, and it wouldn't cut good. I had to keep going back over it with the knife, theeen when I cut it near the head, it started bleeding) I put the chunks in with a couple fish and he ate two of them I now know the trick!

I know, it's a nasty job, but it's for the love of snakes and that beats all.

Good job getting him to eat! I know it sucks cutting up the worms...I still do this thing where I say "sorry, sorry, sorry" as I am cutting them up. My mother laughs at me. But you will get used to it. Just remind yourself that your snake has to eat and get a sharper knife.
