How far is "too far"? Successfully preserving a species that we would otherwise have wiped out by thoughtlessly paving over its habitat? Successfully preserving thousands of species that we would otherwise have wiped out by thoughtlessly releasing certain gasses that trap heat into the atmosphere? What's extreme? Not wanting to do these things? Seeing the consequences of your actions and other people's actions and wanting to inform people about the problems and actually do something to reduce them? Are the extremists perhaps the people who protest, because they have no other way of bringing attention to problems?

Yes, species go extinct. Yes, changes happen naturally. That's no excuse for us wittingly causing it to happen, any more than the existence of death justifies killing people.

After reading my latest post I feel a need to apologize if it seems a bit aggressive.

Speaking of math...I have class in an hour and it is storming really bad here...it's pouring the rain, thundering and lightening...this will be interesting. I have to drive 15 minutes and walk through a huge parking lot.

I was never a huge fan of math...Honestly my last math class I had in high school(Junior year-Algebra II)was like a blow off class. Didn't learn a damn thing. The teacher was a golf coach and just kinda got stuck with teaching, so he didn't care, and made all of us not care

Good luck Marnie, and stay dry!

I like math, I'm just bad at it, even if I've taken "a few" more courses than the average person.

I didn't flat out hate math... I didn't really mind Algebra I and Geometry so much. I still have the quadratic formula memorized, mostly because my freshman Algebra teacher instilled it into our brains with a dumb song X equals negative B plus or minus the square root of B squared minus 4 A C, all over 2 A(sung to the tune of "Pop goes the weasel") I've remembered it for about 7 years for no reason, so I'll probably remember it for life

I found that math became easier for me the farther I went with it. I was in a tightly-controlled program, though, and I had to either sink (leave the program) or swim. Four straight semesters of calculus at 7:40am wasn't fun, but learning to do calculus early in the morning made taking the final exams in the afternoon a breeze.
