It helps their digestion. Without it they get intestinal blockages and they dont survive that.

I know of some sites that you can buy harvester ants, but my apts might freak out if they get shipments of live ants. I may have to order some of that suppliment and see if it works.

So today was Tippy's 5th Birthday We had a little party for her at work like we did last year. It was little less fun, because it started pooring...But she still got her cake and bunches of attention, which that doesn't differ from any other day at work... And she still got to play in the rain, so she had a fun day.

She is so cute. I miss my yellow lab so much. I know what it is like to not want to "replace" a beloved pet. I am actually a big dog person...my yellow lab, Kaela, was everything to me. I still get upset talking about her or looking at pics of her. She died 2 years ago...she was 12. Presley will never replace Kaela...but I have learned to love him in his own way. He's my boy.

I know what it's like losing an older dog. My first dog I had since I was 6 till I was 17. I still miss her alot! Tippy is definitely not a replacement(actually didn't plan on getting her)but, like you said Marnie, I love her in her own way

Invisible Snake, the cake was just a regular vanilla human cake I know it's really not great for her....But it's her birthday(She only had the one piece.)

You know they make cookies and ice cream for dogs...I bet they make cake for them too...actually, I think I have seen recipes for it. You could google it and make her a special doggy cake for her next birthday!

Yea one of my co-workers made all different kinds of doggie cupcakes for her dogs 14th birthday. I'm just kinda lazy....And then all of us humans got to eat cake too I guess I could've been cool and made cake/cupcakes for the dogs and bought a seperate human cake....But I just bought the human cake, let Tippy have some, and made "goodie bags" for her dog friends, with dog treats. We sell some of the doggie ice cream and cookies and stuff too Tippy likes those also.....Sweet potatoe and molasses.....Bleck!
