    Cooling improvisation

Today the news said it was going to be 90 f today, and yesterday at sunset it was 95.. So, before it gets hot, I decided to do a little bit of a cooling improvisation. We don't have nearly enough ice cube trays to cool the snakies down, and have cold water for ourselves... So! I decided to take every single piece of tupperware, plastic bowls, plastic cups and various small trays to fill up with water and keep in the freezer. My babies were absolutely miserable yesterday, despite the fact I had 3 fans going in my little office... So, hopefully they appreciate all the ice.

When I had first caught Snakey, we put an ice cube in his dish and he wrapped himself around it until it melted... Hopefully he wasn't just an oddity in the snake world.. Haha. Ice cold drinks for snakes, $1 each!

Fans only work for animals that sweat.

Fans usually cool things down a degree or two, in my experience. Not blowing air on them to cool them down. Whenever a cool breeze comes through, it blows it all into my room

They're plenty spoiled already... Everyone is getting a pinky meal just for dealing with hot weather yesterday. They like pinkies more than fish and worms, so it seems like more of a treat than a meal.. Haha.

I like that idea. I'll get to crocheting the togas and make pinky, fish and worm grapes.

Good idea. When I saw the thread title I had imagined snakes in the fridge. Or snakes being turned into popsicles

Another idea is ice packs. I get them from work when we get our candy delivered. They last forever. We just put one in the corner and they climb all over it for a bit, then go warm up, then climb when they too warm again.
