I was thinking the same thing. :P

An update on this- how would one go about garter-proofing a 10gal tank? My local shop only has the large Zilla turtle kit in stock, so I'd need to custom-order a 20l. I still don't know how soon I might be getting this garter, and if it ends up being before the tank comes in I need some sort of temp housing. (Considered one of those plastic cages, but even the largest size is incredibly narrow... I wouldn't make him live in that!) I gave it a little more thought, and if I have an extra 10 gallon it'd also make for a good future quarantine space for a new kid.

What's the best way to make a standard tank escape-proof? Possibly some kind of nylon mesh over the top in addition to the lid... could the holes in the corners of a regular screen top be covered up with putty?

Although at the rate this is going, I almost might as well buy a small Zilla online.
