A Google search brought me to this page (Help Baby Birds - In My Neighbourhood) and there's a picture of a baby starling that looks kind of similar? The head looks bigger in proportion to the body though...

Man...baby birds can be so ugly!

I say we cook him and eat him. That's the only way to find out whether it's a chicken or something else.

    I'll fire up the grill.

I know...We also refer to them as "parking lot birds" I still don't mind them.

Not sure if that is it or not. The beak on the bird we have is mostly black with the yellow gape flanges.
I will say the description on that website fits it to a tee. It was living in a broken cinder block of a building.
You might be on to something Kimberly. Thanks.

This is Mr.Raticus, the new rat. That is a dog dish he is sitting in. hes incredibly sweet these days. He has calmed right down to being a pet again. I was in the store I got him from today and was told "of course they're afraid of him, he attacked them." which makes me wonder why...

the third pic is of his new lady friends, they are about 1/2 his size at most, although I'm told they are adult, they look small to me. they all really seem to like each other.

I've never really been into birds, but I've always wanted a starling. They have beautiful songs and are very intelligent. I've heard that some can even say a few words.
