My babies LOVE their chicken!! It's probably their favourite meal. They'll attack it like it's alive.

I have fed turkey heart and liver on occasion and chicken leg meat also. Simply as a treat.

When you guys feed meat...are you feeding it raw? If I wanted to try it as a treat...what kind of meat specifically would you recommend?

I usually use the thigh meat and I try to get grain-fed organic. My snakes probably get it a little more often than as a "treat", but I don't feed pinkies and I wanted them to have more variety.

I've heard of people using Chicken Thigh to get non-feeders going again but don't feed it myself currently.

    Re: Meat

Perhaps I will pick up some organic chicken from my local natural food store at some point and try it just for a treat. I don't know though...it seems like it would be difficult to digest...wouldn't want to cause impaction.

If my memory serves me I think chicken is low in vitamin A so a supplement might be required if you use it for more then a treat.

I wouldn't say that it's a staple either...maybe somewhere in between. I'd say they get chicken anywhere from once a week to once every three weeks. They mainly get silversides and fish filet, with the occasional canned snail.
