    I've always wanted to keep ringneck snakes (Diadophis punctatus) but I know very few people who have had success.
    I won't risk the snakes life for my interest.

    They are awesome looking snakes but difficult to keep. I'll just admire them in the wild.

    They are cool....I find them in Kansas a lot when I'm there. keeping a decent supply of live crayfish for them is tough

    Made the right decision letting him go! In the future, there is a captive strain known as marbled crayfish or marmorkrebs that breed asexually. They multiply and grow very rapidly. I'm sure you could culture these to feed any snake of the genus Regina.
