    i have a baby T.s. pickeringii

    and it currently is in a 20 gallon will that be suitable for its whole life?

    It may be, but that would be the bare minimum most likely.

    Have to agree, that would be the smallest I'd keep an adult T.s.pickeringi in for life. You might be better off with a 30 breeder. It's the same lenght and height as a 20L, but is 18in. wide. Lots of surface area for the garter to move around in.
