    how to tell?

    how can you tell if a snake is gravid? Also how do you know if a snake is a male or female?

    As far as being gravid goes, I couldn't say...All I know is, slowly they will get fatter in the bottom half of their body.

    With telling gender, if you look at the tail where the vent is, if the tail immediately tapers after the vent, it is female. If it stays the same thickness for a short distance, then it's male. If you can post some pictures of your snakes vent I'm sure other people wouldn't mind telling you what they think, I know I wouldn't, but I'm still new to this, so I wouldn't want to tell you one way or the other for sure

    With regards to visual (tail) sexing, I would say sometime after 6 months to a year.
    Some sooner some later. Individual snakes vary.
