Whether these are a first for the UK or not, they are still fine looking snakes. Keep us updated as they grow, will be interesting to see how the colours develop. Steven sometimes posts on here, just reading the RFUK thread it ended before he said what his herp friends thought the genetics were for the snakes in the photos - there were a couple of guesses, but no real conclusion.
Exactly Chris, Florida Blues were always on my list of ones to buy and when my wife went to the Hamm show and called me to tell me that she had not just located Florida Blues but they were het for albino I just had to have them. It was only when i started to look into it a bit more that i stumbled upon that post and to be fair it confused the heck out of me lol. What i did find is that a clutch this kind in the UK is very very rare and i was never that in to UK firsts anyway and just wanted to do it for me anyway lol.
We're going to hold back an albino and one of the possible hets to see if we can't establish a line of Albino Florida Blues here in the UK as the only other person I've seen with them is Dr Alan Francis.
So i'll keep everyone up to date with the ones that i don't part with.

The FL albinos are known to show some extent of paradox in their pattern. This becomes more noticeable as they grow.

Useful information Jason. Are they relatively common in the US? I find the paradoxes to be quite curious, if the snake is lacking the genes to express melanin how do they then produce an atypical black pattern? More research needed when I have time.

I have 4 Florida blues that are like stuffed sausages lol. I should have a BUNCH of albinos soon. Some of the snakes from this line are heavily paradox and some not at all.

I could only really guess to be honest. When i got my grubby mits on them they were sub adult and they got picked up at June's Hamm show from a German breeder who was going to keep them but needed pennies for another project that he was getting into. Out of curiosity i'll have to dig out the paperwork and find out who it was.
I then spent most of last year getting the weight on the female.

It is fairly common with the FL albinos, but as Ed said, some have paradox, others do not. I have no idea how this works as far how melanin is expressed with an albino specimen, someone much smarter then me may be able to explain how. Ed (and others) have done a great job making the FL albino more common in the US, however, they are still one of the more rare forms of albinism currently available. I really like them, they are beautiful snakes, as are the hets! And their voracious appetites along with some attitude, make them one of my favorites.
