re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

I'm sorry to hear that Richard. Rest in peace little bird. You did the best you could and gave her a peaceful passing.

My dog is in his playpen since I am awaiting the arrival of my new snakes...he is crying and howling like a baby wolf. Geez!!!

Now she is "immortalized" on the web in that pic. How many other birds can "say that"

I'm "glad" it happened in May. They don't lay eggs here until late June/ early July when the local thistles go to seed. No babies depending on her.
Stress is the biggest killer of injured birds by far but like Steve said, suspected internal injuries cannot be ruled out. It's always a sad loss when a creature that you are caring for dies. Goldfinches nest early here - May/June. There is little sign of thistles growing at present but they grow a such a fast rate that by the time the young Goldfinches (Grey Plates) have fledged the thistles are begining to seed.

We were playing copy cat the other day. I yawned and the frog opened his mouth really big. I fake yawned just to see what he would do and he did it again we went back and forth for about 5min. It was cute!
