    Re: Ribbon on the Ranch

As I prepared to feed Shyblue and her crew of T.radix buddies I opened the front of the enclosure and turned to get a worm out of the container I was using.
When I turned back I was met by my Shyblue. She didn't jump or show and uneasiness. The worm in my hand was unscented but I offered it to her anyway.
She smelled it and then gave me "the look" I turned and quickly brushed the worm's front end on a piece of tilapia.
When I turned back Shy was waiting for me.
I know this doesn't sound like much but for a snake that has been so jumpy this was a great day.
She stayed out with me and didn't bolt when I moved. For the first time I was able to feed the group at normal speed.
Shyblue is a very good snake and I hope she'll stay on the Ranch for a long time.

very cool. some cb ribbons would be awesome. i like that name for her, btw. was very very close to picking up a ribbon, like i said. they sound a bit touchier than garters and need a more deft hand.

Meh! Real men eat their hats raw and unseasoned. I may even consider serving it up with a slice of humble pie.
I want to see the video I specified first though.

Real men eat their hats seasoned with fistfuls of habanero.

Yeah, I have no idea what we're talking about here.

    Re: Ribbon on the Ranch

    hey steve,

there are a couple of what look to be southern or peninsula ribbons at the local pet store in town: light blue-grey backs split up the middle by a very pale off-white stripe. they're gorgeous. can garters and ribbons live together peacefully? i've read in a few places that garters do better in small groups. do you think getting a little ribbon for the tank would help or hurt Hydra? (i told myself i wouldn't get the multi-garter fever, but i think it's struck).
