Yeah, I'm definately not going to say I'm certain, and you could very well be right Richard just variability in the wild type. The thing that I noticed that struck me as a possible indication that they are something different was how stark clean white they are under the chin and belly. Shrug
I have a pair that I got from Scott that were from an his axanthic pairing, only no axanthics were produced in the litter, so I am hoping these "normals" are now isolated from the anery gene, yet carry the gene that when combined with anery makes that particular blue axanthic look. These two look very much like the "green hypo" radix that pop in certain areas. Anyway I think it would be worth crossing them to Steves axanthic and see what happens. I also have the classic blue axanthic female to cross to them. Who knows?

But is it white pigment, or a lack of pigment? That's what I meant when I said they don't look "mutated". I guess I can't really judge that from a picture. Your project idea sounds promising either way. Who knows what will pop up from that cross. Maybe something totally unique and never seen before. That would be awesome. Just when you think we've "used up" radixes to produce all the possible morphs...

Even if that phenotype isn't the result of lacking of reduced red and yellow, but rather an increase in white that still in my mind has tons of potiential because maybe crossed to the classic blue axanthic make a black snake with blue sides and a blue dorsal stripe, or crossed to anerythristic it would make a black snake with a bright silver/gray dorsal stripe and belly.
I'm guessing Steve, you have already considered crossing it to the red radix or the red albino to see what that would do? A red or pink or peach radix with a white dorsal would be sweet!
