    Much of their behavior undoubtedly is seasonal, but as far as I can tell, at what times they are active isn't. Of course, they'll start cruising when they need to find something, such as a mate or a place to hibernate, but apart from that...

    I think I might be able to convince my parents to let me get a garter. What kind do you think would be best since I've never had one? I really like the Oregon Red Spotteds and Plains.

    Parietalis is the best. No, I don't have anything to back it up with.

    Plains garters have a reputation for being user friendly, so obviously that's a plus.

    Ok, I probably shouldn't worry at all though because ribbons are supposed to be harder than garters.

    Don't worry Elliot, if you can do Ribbons, Garters will be easy for you. I'd recommend radix, they're the best!

    I like my T. e. vagrans best and find her extremely user friendly
    I liked the T. radix I had a lot - also friendly and more colourful, if that's what you're looking for
    my T. s. parietalis are nice . . .
