Yep. Stick an "a" in front of the pigment names and it means that the particular pigment is missing.

Char wanted some melanistic easterns, they look so similar to our Mexicans that I think we'll focus on widening the variation we have. Then we can come back to the melanistics.

You've got Cuitzeos too haven't you Scott? How do they compare side-by-side?
the melanistic parietalis are wanna be cuitzeoensis, some even have the pink tail

Thanks for the kudos. I do not have any now but do expect babies from various bloodlines next summer. Here's a comparison shot of the melanistic and cuitz. The cuitz is not as jet black as the melanistic eastern, cool thing w/ the Cuitz is that the ventrals are dark from the head to the cloaca and from the cloaca to the tail it is bone white in color.

Maybe we do still need some melanistic easterns if they are blacker that the Cuitzeos. <ticklist grows again>

Now do these snakes have to be specifically bred to get these colors or are they also found in the wild? I'm asking because we have some black snakes around here and I am wondering if they may be garters...everyone just calls them black snakes.
