Re: The girls have a new home...

Okay...ha ha...I made sure the tape was tucked up and around good so that they couldn't get stuck to it...I actually thought about them sticking to it. I put wax pieces in the little gaps in the top of the lid on the corners. Superglued a plug into a hole that is made for a cord...there were a lot of little places that small snakes could get through. Like Wayne said...we're still second class citizens I guess....

Yeah, so did I. Still lost a snake by using tape. The problem is, it rarely stays put, and the snakes always seem to find a way to get stuck to it, however impossible it may seem.

You mean a snake died? I'm not sure what else to do...I had to block off spots that they could get in and get hurt...

I did notice those tanks aren't really suitable for tiny snakes. Like you're saying, too many gaps they can squeeze through.

Okay...all of the tape is off...talked to Steve on skype for a while...figured out how to deal with the gaps without tape...crisis averted...thanks everyone for the concern.

Good. And no, the snake didn't die. Worse. I found her hopelessly stuck, exhausted and dehydrated almost to the point of death. Even her tongue was stuck to the tape. I couldn't free her without literally ripping her scales and tongue off, so I had to euthanize. I was soooo sure she couldn't get to that tape. It was a hard lesson.

Yeah. For sure. To make matters worse, I loved that snake like you would love your own child, and my only option was quick action with a sharp pair of pruning shears.
