Got our first snow last night. Big wet flakes but didn't stick. It came at the tail end of a cold front that made it pour rain for 5 hours here in the SoCal high desert. Nice and sunny today, headed for a high in the upper 60's.

That's high desert for you. 80's one week, snowing the next.

It's the "high" part that's important here. That's why it does that. Even if there is no storm (which is most of the time) the elevation can cause it to be well below freezing at night and scorching hot in the day. Snowed last night, almost 70 F today.
