Re: Garter Snake Skin Growth ):
The pictures aren't showing. I had a snake with white growths on it, also. It ended up being a fungus. I was told to soak her in iodine mixed with water. Just enough iodine to make the water slightly tinted, but not to let her head go under at all.
Try feeding the snake night crawlers or feeder guppies or silversides. You can scent pinky mice with them once you find which food he likes.

that looks like a skin blister to me
is the snake soaking in the water bowl a lot? or is there perhaps wet bedding?
make sure the snake is kept dry, and if they soak, just give them a smaller bowl for a while
be sure to check for mites - tiny black crawlies
the snake may not be accustomed to eating rodents - do you know what it was fed before?

Welcome to the forum Brandon.
It might be a retained scale.
Have you tried removing any of the white substance?
Any seepage from the site?
Here is a link to the forum care sheet.

My opinion should be the least likely. I never said that it was what Malady had, I just said she had something similar.

Re: Garter Snake Skin Growth ):
OH gosh, thanks for all the help. I thought my post hadn't gone through! (I didnt see it after I posted it). I think the growth was due to the somewhat wet bedding in the enclosure. It seems like it is now healing up quite nicely.
Still having some trouble feeding him... Starting to get frustrated!
