re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

I just had to share a little something that happened with Tank(common snapping turtle)
I noticed he had some left over food hanging out the corner of his mouth.
I started picking at it and to my surprise he opened his mouth and let me get it out.
He's an amazing turtle. I've never had another turtle like him.
    Long live Tank.
He's a blessing to my family.

He is a great turtle. My sis ter had a small box turtle when we lived in California and he would roam.....but he would also nip. One day my sister was sitting on the couch talking to mom and he nipped her toe. Her first reaction exspecailly not knowing it was him doing it was to kick. So Todd( the box turtle) had his first and only flying lesson. I dont think he liked it much cause he didnt do it again. He lived for 15years I think it was. Give or take a year. He was awesome. He dies of old age. All the kids that came over would wanna watch him. Man he was fast too. I think at one point my sister wanted tco race him but didnt.
I wanted to Thank you Steve for your help with the heating pad.

I have 4 Easterns(mine: Furbie and Whiplash; moms: Diamond and Silky) all are 5 and half months old. So much fun gaters are.

From what I've read, while I like tanks better, plastic tubs/bins are better for these guys, cause it keeps the humidity much better, and people who use both say the frogs eat better and stuff in them anyway, so..

I could do this with SUBSTRATE, WATERBOWL. pretty temptime. I got the other stuff, including a 15 gallon plastic bin lying around in my room.
I've always wondered if it's the plastic bins that make the frogs eat better or just that people have a hard time keeping their environment right in standard screen-top tanks..

You should check out this site if you get one. It's pretty helpful.

    Yes they are.

Yeah, I doubt it's the tub... That just seems weird. I've seen that site. Will check it out more if i one.

Which I'm starting to think i won't. This year isn't like last year where we Could the house and the house will get 68-70 in winter months, so without a lamp I don't know if I could keep the temps right after all.

Very cool skinks! The puppy is cute too, it looks like a corgy with the long muzzle and large ears. I had a cardigan welch corgy when I was a kid. His name was Andy, and he LOVED the water!
