    Re: Willow's Babies!!!!

I'm not going to poke him, just rub him around a little. He seemed pretty ok with me doing that. I held onto him with a pair of wide tweezers. I just rolled him over the worm chunks and then put him in his cup with a spinach leaf. He seems pretty happy in his new home.

They love strawberries a whole lot too. I have a little strawberry patch and they bombard it every day when the strawberries are in season.

I'll have to try those. I really don't know much about slug care. Do I just toss in a leaf now and then and clean his cup?

They seem to put out a lot of waste.
I think a clean container very often would be best.

    Re: Willow's Babies!!!!

I just kept them on a ton of fresh greens and whenever they finished, put more in... And if they didn't I changed the greens and cleaned the little cup out. Make sure not to keep them really moist, that kills them, as does a lot of heat. Too dry and they'll dry out. It's surprisingly hard (at least in my case) to keep them alive. Haha.

Well, I'll try my best to keep him going. I'm sure my adult NWs would be very upset if I had to feed Herb to them....

Well he'd likely slime their mouths if you did feed him to them! If you do, though, have q-tips and tweezers ready to pull the slime out.

That's true. They are good eaters on what we have I think I'll stick to that.

Yeah, stay away from those. Bad news.

I'm pretty sure the slugs Chantel is talking about are not native to NA, but common still. Tiger slugs get huge and are quite common around my yard. Their slime is somewhat clear and not so "super glue" like. All my snakes that eat slugs, love tiger slugs which are native to Europe:
