    Talking Follow Up Feeding Questions

Hello all! I've had my baby albino checkered garter for a month or so now and she's been doing very well. Some may remember that when I had received her she has a discolored and deflated eye. Since then it has been steadily improving. I never figured out what was wrong for sure, but I believe she acquired some type of injury during shipment and had some hemorrhaging in her eye. It's now returned close to normal color, and even though the pupil isn't a perfect circle, I think it's still healing.

She's also grown a ton! Almost doubled in length (: I've been feeding her about 1/3 of a pinky chopped into pieces every week, along with about a 1/3 inch of a night crawler, and then I feed her about a 1/2 to an inch of night crawler every other day. How does this diet sound? Should I been supplementing it with anything? Should I feed more often, less often, etc?

    thanks!

No need to supplement yet, and probably not at all with pinkies in the diet.

That schedule is fine. The diet itself, being mostly nightcrawlers, might be good to throw in something else.. not sure, someone expand on that.

I personally feed everyday, sometimes every other day. Little peices, like head-sized or smaller, of worms/fish (tilapia, silversides) and pinkies when I get them.

Little peices, little bit of food, digestes fast, and they're ready for me tomorrow.

I second what Jesse said. With babies I feed everyday. The trick is to make sure they digest by the next feeding. In my opinion, if a baby garter has a proper basking spot it is impossible to overfeed. They grow quick!

Oh it's possible. My flame would get fat so easily if I let him. My other 3 babies not so much so I hear what your saying.
