More likely to be a better time than mid day. Still, morning is better. The snakes are all still cold and basking in the open. If I go to my spots when the sun is first hitting the area, or the clouds are just starting to break up, but it's still cool out, I find a lot of snakes basking in the open. Later on, not so many, or none at all.

I tried google maps to look around at locations before, (I don't want to download google earth...) and I didn't see any tan areas (Or whatever would be a field or something) and I didn't see any forests... (or stuff like that....) It was just like....... Green (For land) and blue, (For water) with names or places and buildings.

Just a suggestion. You can control what appears in google earth you know. (street names, labels, places, etc.) you can even remove all of them so it's just an arial photo.

I don't know what you mean by green, blue, etc. Obviously we're talking about two different things here. This is what google earth lets me see. I know that the green vegetated areas and waterways have plenty of snakes and I just look around for places that look similar and go there. Easy peasy.

You can do it with google maps too. Just switch it to "satellite". Google earth is better though.

    I looked on google earth.

I can't find any lakes / ponds near me... -.-

I went all around but couldn't find much.

    That's okay..... I'm still looking.
