A powerhouse bad-as PC is dirt cheap these days too! right now you can spend as little as $450 to get a very powerful PC. Three years ago, a top end PC was around $1000 desktop, $1200 laptop. Now, $450 desktop, around $600 laptop.

I know!!!!!!! They cost NOTHING compared to before! But they still cost $450 and that's too much. As much as I want (need) a powerhouse bad-as PC... It's not happening yet.

I spent $1200 in parts and built mine. Two years later it still blows away most new computers I've worked with. Now it's worth around $300. You know, it's funny, the monitor has held it's value better than any of it.

yeah Its crazy.. most laptops are cheaper than an iPad.

That's because everyone is shifting over to portable devices. Most people would rather have their internet on an ipad or smart phone than to have a computer these days. And with smart TV's, there is even speculation that the desktop will become a thing of the past.

What an absurd myth. What most people do not realize is that the date is not the end of the Myan calendar. It's merely the end of their long-count cycle. Their calandar is a celestial calandar which is much more accurate than any other known calandar. Dec 21, 2012 is merely the end of a long count cycle and the day that our solar system is lined up perfectly with the center of the galaxy. A new long count cycle starts after that. Just think of it like you would the end of a millennium on our calandar.

There is scientific speculation however, that the galactic alignment will put gravitational forces on our planet that it hasn't been subjected to since the last alignment. This could cause a slip or shift of the poles (which aren't really stationary in the first place) causing massive earthquakes, weather events, climate change, continental shifts, etc., and accelerate the current mass extinction already underway.

But that wouldn't be the end of the world. It would just be the tipping point for massive change.

I hate TVs with internet.

And sure, it's cool to have internet on your phone, but can't compare to a big gaming desktop.

I can understand wanting to have access, heck our computers so bad i use my ipod for this site more than the computer. But sure as heck don't LIKE it as much.
